Let me help you celebrate in style with a fun and uplifting
ceremony, ensuring such an important event is full of
Naming Days / Adoption Ceremonies
Most cultures celebrate the arrival of a new baby into the family; in this country this was traditionally done in the form of a christening. However, as less people go to church regularly, the arrival of a new born often goes without a formal welcoming.
A naming day will celebrate the birth of the new addition to the family. Trusted relatives or close friends can still be appointed to support the child throughout their life in the role traditionally held by godparents.
Whether you Naming day is in your own back garden or at a formal venue I offer the same personalised and professional service. I will meet you prior to the special day to obtain an understanding of the ceremony you would like and to advise on any aspect you wish. Should family or friends wish to participate I can suggest readings or poems for them read, as well as songs that can be played. Alternatively, I can incorporate ones you have already chosen into the service.
Following the meeting I will write a full service dedicated to your child and send you a copy for approval. On the day, I will co-ordinate and present the ceremony in according with your wishes. In addition, I can produce an order of service to add to the occasion and your child will be presented with a Naming Day Certificate to mark this very special occasion.
At the meeting, I like to find out about you as a family, the personality of the child - even very young ones have likes and dislikes, your dreams and hopes for your future together.
We can discuss the pledge you would like to make to your child and I can write it for you or give guidance if you prefer to write it yourself. I have written pledges for parents, grandparents, guardians, godparents, older siblings and special friends.
We can also talk about the part in the ceremony when the child is formally given their name and the words you would like me to use.
